Out Of School Club

From the success of the pre school we opened Poppy's Out of School Club in 2005 founded by Sara Sime. We open Monday to Friday, during term time. Breakfast club starts at 7.30am and the children can help themselves to a selection of bread, cereals, crumpets, pancakes, fruit and juice. Children are then escorted to the school for 8.30am. When the school day ends we collect KS1 children from reception; The children in KS2 are encouraged to make their own way to the club (with parental permission). The sessions are 3:15pm - 4:30pm or 3:15pm - 6:00pm. If children stay till 6:00pm they will have a hot freshly cooked meal and unlimited drinks.

We also offer 'occasional' one off sessions which need to be pre-booked and paid for in advance.

All sessions must be pre booked..
Poppy Preschool

Poppy pre school was first situated on Aylesford Primary school site in 1991, in a mobile building. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and were awarded a government grant in 2010 to build a permanent building on the ground adjacent to the infant playground. This wonderful building now houses a separate pre-school and out of school club for up to 42 children per session. We have a wonderful enclosed garden area which allows us to have 'free flow' play all year round.

We offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities at all times in our free play sessions, and aim to cater for all styles of learning: energetic and sociable or small-scale and quiet. Activities include puzzles, games and a wide range of mathematical resources, books, writing and drawing opportunities, painting, model making and building, role play, sensory play, water and sand, and a wide range of opportunities for climbing, balancing, ball games, riding bikes and cars, digging and exploring nature in our extensive outdoor spaces. We have a well trained and experienced staff team, and continuously develop our service in response to new ideas and research in early years education. We encourage parents and families to feel welcome in our setting, and offer lots of opportunities for involvement through open mornings and local trips. We also work closely with the local schools and other relevant services.
